I look back fondly on two years of working with Martijn on the design of Picqer. Martijn is a designer with an exceptional sense of quality and aesthetics, but what truly sets him apart is his focus on the user.

For Martijn, design isn't just about pretty pictures. It's about how a product works and whether it actually solves the user's problem. He stayed in close contact with our users and regularly visited customers to really understand their situation and needs. He was remarkably quick to turn those insights into ideas that improved both the functionality and the design.

Martijn sees the big picture, but also the smallest visual details. He can articulate his decisions clearly, but never gets stuck in theory. He wants to test ideas in practice as quickly as possible so he can learn from them and improve.

Beyond his knowledge and skills, Martijn is simply a wonderful colleague: enthusiastic and great with everyone. Working with Martijn was, above all, a lot of fun.

My experience working with Martijn has been exceptional. Having him be part of my team was amazing. He's not only a very gifted, skilled, creative and talented designer but was also a huge motivator within our team, collaborative, always there to help and a huge team player. He designs smart user-centric solutions while also thinking about tech and business constraints. Anyone that gets to work with Martijn is very lucky! I would work with him again anytime!

Last week, Martijn gave a visual design lecture and workshop in our first year University Bachelor program Communication Science at the University of Twente. Both the students and academic staff were truly impressed by Martijn's skills and knowledge and his ability to tailor that amount of experience into an understandable presentation. In addition to that, Martijn appears to be a very pleasant and involved person to work with. To be continued next year. Thanks Martijn!

We hired Martijn to design a fully new software system to register and report complaints. Working together with Martijn has been great. Besides the creative and beautiful designs he makes, he is a nice and loyal guy who is always open to comments and suggestions.
